How to Use Essential Oils for Healing
Essential oils, known for their medicinal and cosmetic properties have been part of healing for millennia. It cures and caresses the skin like no else.
But before using an essential oil for that intrinsic healing, you must understand what exactly an essential oil is...
It is the soluble, volatile lipid part of the fluid of a plant comprised of odiferous compounds and produced by steam distillation of the vegetable plant matter. The matter can be anything: seeds, stems, roots, branches, flowers, fruits, bark, leaves, needles, etc. The vapors are condensed and collected during the distillation process. It is worth mentioning here that an essential oil contains a lot of ingredients.
Now lets discuss how to use an essential oil for the healing purpose.
A few drops of the essential oil added to the bathing water in a dispersant ensures absorption by the skin. Since they are volatile they get inhaled by you making the healing process faster.
Here's how to use it: Essential oils being insoluble in water float on the surface and come in contact with the skin exposed. Usually to disperse the oils, bath salts can be added to them. Recipe: take baking soda, epsom salt and sea salt in the ratio 1:2:3. Add six parts of the essential oil to this mixture. Pour this into the bathing water and enjoy your bath. It works as a scrub too. Tea tree oil soap is an alternative for those who do not have enough time to spend in the bath tub.
Essential oils and massage have been associated with one another for a long time. It helps in alleviating the problem to a great level. It increases blood circulation and energy flow in the body.
Here's how to use it: Add a few drops of essential oil to a carrier oil and then apply it to the affected skin. Rub gently, not vigorously. But, it is important to use the right concentration of the essential oil to get the benefit desired. The following should help you through.

P.S. :- No wonder then, lavender oil tops the list when it comes to baby shower gifts.
Essential oils have found their use as cold compress or hot compress too.
Here's how to use it: Dilute the essential oil in a carrier oil or water. Now this preparation can be applied directly to the affected area or to the dressing as well. They penetrate through the skin layers and heal it.
These are the ways in which you can use the essential oils. They will not only expedite the healing, but will fill you with a new energy.
Now arises the big question: Which essential oil should be used?
Well, it all depends on the type of result desired as different oils have different properties. Do your research before using.
Remember the healing can be promoted only by a high quality essential oil. It should be pure and natural. Anything below this implies that there is some adulteration and the reason why it hasn't helped much in the healing process. So, pick wisely.
