Lynn Reynolds Joins Faruki Ireland Cox Rhinehart & Dusing PLL
DAYTON, Ohio — Faruki Ireland Cox Rhinehart & Dusing PLL is pleased to welcome their newest attorney, Lynn Reynolds, who will join the firm as Of Counsel and focus her practice on employment and corporate compliance counseling. She brings the unique perspective of having worked within organizations as both an advisor and client.
Formerly Vice President and Head of Legal at LexisNexis, Reynolds was responsible for the legal affairs of the business divisions operating in the US and Canada and led a team of 15 lawyers and staff located in Dayton, New York, Raleigh, Toronto and Manila, Philippines. Prior to that, she was Vice President & Lead Employment Counsel for both the Risk Management and Legal & Professional LexisNexis divisions, supporting business units of 30 to 6,000 employees.
"During much of my 16-year tenure in the LexisNexis/RELX Legal Departments, I worked every day with Human Resources professionals across the country. Together, we developed pragmatic solutions to increasingly complex workplace challenges, from employee relations issues and leave management to federal contracting compliance and related audits. I look forward to bringing that breadth of experience and collaborative spirit to other organizations."
More recently, Reynolds has been assisting clients with education and training relating to harassment and conducting workplace investigations involving the C-suite. "All workplace investigations require special care," she said, "but investigations involving allegations of misconduct by senior executives can be particularly jarring to a company and its employees and require a unique combination of skills to be effective."
As an in-house lawyer, Reynolds brings the unique perspective of having been on the receiving end of legal advice. "I understand what it is like to receive a memo from a law firm that does a fantastic job explaining the law but provides no realistic path to implementation. Great legal advice is wasted when it does not consider a business’s unique operations, processes, systems and culture. I can bridge that gap by going beyond standard legal advice to help organizations develop and implement compliance strategies tailored to their specific structures and cultures."
Reynolds cites Faruki+’s reputation and size as key elements in her decision to join the team, citing especially the firm’s agility. "The business world changes quickly and law firms need to adapt and change with them. Faruki+ has demonstrated to me that they are willing to challenge the status quo when it comes to meeting the needs of their clients," she said.
Reynolds graduated magna cum laude from King's College, where she received her bachelor of arts in English and History, and with honors from University of Dayton School of Law, where she received the Outstanding Female Law Student award. After law school, she clerked with Justice Deborah Cook of the Ohio Supreme Court (now of the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit), and then worked as a litigation associate with a Dayton-based firm.
When not at the office, Reynolds is on the Board of Directors for the Greater Dayton Volunteer Lawyers Project and co-chair of the Annual Campaign for Equal Justice. To learn more about Lynn Reynolds and Faruki+, please visit www.ficlaw.com.
