The 24th Annual SFPE Chesapeake Chapter Golf Tournament

GLEN DALE, Md. - The annual Chesapeake Chapter golf tournament will be taking place at the Glen Dale Golf Course on May 3 to raise money to support the Department of Fire Protection Engineering. All proceeds from the event will benefit the University of Maryland fire protection engineering students. For online registration, click here

This event will feature:

  • 18 holes of golf
  • Unlimited range balls during morning registration
  • Morning coffee, luncheon, and refreshments
  • Practice putting and chipping greens
  • Captain's choice 4-person scramble
  •  Longest drive and closest to the pin contests
  •  Prizes 

Various fire protection engineering companies will be sponsoring the event including Red Hawk, Strickland, and Fireline. 

"I'm looking forward to the event. I went last year and it's a lot of fun to compete with my fellow classmates knowing all the proceeds will be donated to our program," said Ben Johnson, a senior fire protection engineering student.

The cost of attendance is $125 for a foursome team and the event is expected to sell out fast.

About the Department of Fire Protection Engineering

The Department of Fire Protection Engineering was established within the Clark School of Engineering in 1956. To date, it offer the only fully accredited undergraduate program and one of three graduate degree programs in the United States. It is dedicated to give the highest quality education to its students.
