Norcees Carrier Sr.

Norcees Carrier Sr., 68, passed away November 3, 2016 at his residence in Fort Washakie Wyoming from a lifelong heart condition. Wake Service will be begin at 7:00pm on Monday, November 7th at Rocky Mountain Hall with the Wake to follow at his residence located at 132 Ethete Road. Funeral Services will begin at 10:00am on Tuesday, November 8th at Rocky Mountain Hall in Fort Washakie; burial to follow at Sacajawea Cemetery.

Norcees was born on November 12, 1947 to Benjamin and Francis (McAdams) Carrier. He was married to Anita (Moss) Carrier from 1976 to 1990. Norcees worked as a Ranch Hand for his Uncle Starr Weed Sr. for the remaining years of his life; he also worked for the Wind River Police Department as a dispatcher, the Sho-rap Lodge, and Morning Star Manor. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren; he enjoyed playing the slot machines with his family members at the local casinos. In his early years, Norcees enjoyed fishing and hunting with his lifelong friend, Larry Wheeler.

Survivors include his children, Madonna (Curtis) Kienlen, Raphaelita Carrier, Norcees (Naomi) Carrier Jr., Charity Carrier, Pauline Moss and Andrea Clark; grandchildren, Christopher Lonebear, Braydon Lonebear, Shandiin Lonebear, Glorious Stevens, Brandon Whilteplume, Sydney Thurber, Wyoma Littleshield, Andrew Talty, Divine Littleshield, Benjamin St. Clair, Sequoia Brianna Carrier and Ezra Kienlen; sisters, Lorena Foursouls, Eunice (Pablo) Coranado, Elaine Weed, Zelma Bell, Wilma (Harvey) Spoonhunter, Darlene McGill, Rose (Dean) Goggles, Flora Burnett, Leola (Vince) White, Charlene and Merilyn Tillman; brothers, Wallace (Ida) Carrier, Thornton Carrier, Starr (Janet) Weed Jr., Larry (Gloria Wheeler); nieces and nephews, Karen and Brandy Stephenson, Helen Ward, Tommy, Henry, Delmar, Larae and Evelyn Foursouls, Angel and Adam Carrier, Alvin Felter, Shawna, Ladonna, Quannah, Kevin, and Kolin Whashakie, Kaylee Weed, Colleen, Priscilla, Kristi Bell, Joanne Gaines, Charity and Sharmaine Tillman, Burdie Burnett, Harmony Spoonhunter, Missy, Kimberly Goggles, Marie Snyder, Jessica, Darcy, Cassie, Dani and Hope White, Delmar Weed, Haroldine Moss, Charla Moss, Cheryl Oldman, Laurencine Felter and Dawn Wheeler; numerous relatives, Enemy Boy, McAdams, Weed, Enos, Posey, Day, Surrell, Bonatsie, Timbana, Washakie families and Moss families.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, United State Marine LCpl. Amanda Faith Carrier; his parents, adopted father Starr Weed Sr.; maternal grandparents James and Eunice (Day) McAdams, Sarah Day, Baptiste Enos Weed, Jessie Day, Antone Enos, Wilmer Day; paternal grandparents, Wallace and Bessy Carrier; brothers, Sequoia Carrier, Steve (Carrier) Stephenson; uncles, David McAdams, Lester McAdams, Thornton McAdams, Andrew McAdams, Benjamin McAdams, Vincent McAdams, Herman (Ina) Weed Enos, Franklin Enos; aunts, Eunice Osborne and Sylvia Enos.
