Lander Cross Country meet

Hundreds to runners participated in Lander's legendary cross county meet Thursday. There were 545 athletes, to be exact, who participated in the event. middle school and high school runners from Riverton, Green River, Fort Waskakie, Lyman, Wyoming Indian, St Stephens, Rock Springs, Mountain view and Lander school took on the very challenging hilly race on the Lander Golf Coarse.

Most runners had a complaint or two about the hill at the end. The coarse was a challenging one and considered by most racers as the hardest of all the meets.

The middle school girls raced first followed by the middle school boys, high school JV and high school varsity. There were 184 middle school girls, 215 middle school boys, 27 junior varsity girls, 56 junior varsity boys, 23 varsity girls and 40 varsity boys.
