Annual Greater Kansas City Restaurant Association’s Inaugural Event Celebrates Restaurant Industry Leadership on January 27

Event will honor restaurateurs of the year and the inauguration of Kevin Timmons

KANSAS CITY, MO. (Jan. 16, 2018) – The annual Inaugural Gala and awards ceremony for the Greater Kansas City Restaurant Association (GKCRA) is Saturday, Jan. 27, at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Olathe, KS, celebrating the inauguration of Kevin Timmons as president, along with the Restaurateurs of the Year, Andy Lock and Domhnall Molloy of Summit Group, LLC., and the Company of the Year, Hiland Dairy.   


The event brings restaurant industry leaders, partners, civic organizations and political representatives from the bi-state area to commemorate the anniversary of the GKCRA, as well as the origin of the National Restaurant Association (NRA) and restaurant associations across the nation.


The menu for this year’s event includes selections from local culinary talent, including Kevin Timmon’s  signature pot roast with mashed potatoes and gravy. Local area high school students from ProStart, a national culinary education program, across the metro are partnered with local chefs to create appetizer selections available throughout the evening. The food menu is complimented by signature drinks and craft cocktails including an Old Fashion and a Bleu Cheese Martini.


Attendees will enjoy live entertainment by Tony Antonucci and Atlantic Express throughout the evening.

ProStart Students and Mentor Chefs:  ProStart is a national career-building program for high school students who are interested in culinary arts and foodservice management. Blake Hammond from Company Kitchen and Jennifer Rider from The Roasterie will assist the ProStart schools during the event.
