How to Use Crystals in Your Routine Life

One of its graver cultural and political milestones, 2016 are also recalled as the year of the crystal. Rocks purportedly in possession of healing powers are suddenly everywhere, by the desks of otherwise straitlaced Vogue editors to societal networking memes (Father John Misty allegedly purloined a large specimen from Moon Juice's Silver Lake outpost in July; viral mayhem ensued). True, there are some things science can't yet explain, and they do look pretty. However besides organizing a stones onto a shelf -- or submitting to a chakra cleanse at the hands of an expert what--does one do together?

Kristin Petrovich, a skeptic turned believer and cofounder of the cult gemstone-infused skin-care lineup Själ Skin Care, set out to answer this query. "Crystals and Stones are used for thousands of years in Eastern medicine, and they are now being integrated in Western medicine," she states. "They vibrate at a higher frequency, which gravitates toward the weaker cells in our body. Asked to counter the perception that this principle is New Age nonsense, she points out the stones' part in progress. (After all, is not it odd that in all likelihood this article has been beamed to you through space?) "It has more memory compared to any item on the planet."

What is more, based on Petrovich, beauty benefits can be conferred by this energy transfer, too. "Skin may appear more alive, even, and apparent" via the use of crystals, she says. "You can feel calmer, energized, even rested, and based on which stones and therapy you choose." Conveniently, the publication features some 200 pages' worth of those, from instructions on how best to create your own skin elixirs by "charging" waters and oils with rocks, into grounding bathroom recipes, to acupressure treatments for discoloration. Here, Petrovich shares five tricks to take your crystals into the next level.

For Tired or Puffy Eyes during the Holiday Season

Try a Shiatsu hematite acupressure massage. Hematite is a rock with oxygenating and iron possessions, and is very good for flow de-puffing, and pleasant.

Instructions: Gently apply a generous amount of eye cream or oil around your eye orbital area (careful not to get it into the eye). With mild to medium pressure, apply the hematite around the entire eye orbital, try this 3 times round the eye area, then put it down to the nostril on the side of the nose, press on, and breathe; second, take the rock below the collarbone, hitting a lymphatic point, and press. You should feel that a clearing round the sinus and eye area. (Repeat on the other eye.)

For Stress

Try taking some other rock of selection or the hematite, and put it on your temples, employing medium pressure. Take a deep breath (replicate). Next, with the same stone, perform extremely small, gentle circles on the eyebrow (think of the weight of a feather or raindrop), and also feel yourself moving to a tranquil or meditative state.

To Feel More Grounded

Have a set of stones that are hematite and place one in each shoe or boot, or under the soles of your feet. This may pull your energy to the floor, which makes you feel more centered.

For Sadness or Disillusionment

Try carrying a rose quartz and placing it on your bra close to your heart chakra. This is a stone known for calmness and self love. Try a watermelon tourmaline if you would like to take it to the next level; its properties are fantastic for the heart. Green helps to pull out emotions, while pink foliage.

To Clear Your Energy

Point the one from the left hand in your body (energy coming from). The one in the right hand should point out, or away from the body (energy heading out). This creates a circle or wheel of energy, producing a effect through the entire body. Hold for 15 to 20 minutes and breathe.
