Nearly 35,000 lunchtime cookies sold at Houlihan’s Restaurants translates to more than $17,000 donated through its Cookies for a Cause campaign
Introduced in May 2016, the campaign benefitted 10 charities in 9 different markets
LEAWOOD, Kan. (Feb. 9, 2017) – In May of last year, Houlihan’s Restaurants launched its Cookies for a Cause campaign in nine markets throughout the nation in an effort to raise funding for 10 local charities. The campaign encouraged guests to indulge in Houlihan’s signature, homemade chocolate chip cookies for 50 cents each. All cookie sales were donated to various local charities chosen by each market’s team members based on what they wanted to support locally. Prior to the Cookies for a Cause campaign, Houlihan’s treated lunchtime diners to a complimentary chocolate chip cookie.
During the final eight months of 2016, 30 restaurants in nine markets sold 34,319 lunchtime cookies, equaling a total donation of $17,159.50 nationwide. The Cookies for a Cause campaign continues in 2017 in the same nine markets. Houlihan’s plans to launch the campaign in additional markets.
The Cookies for a Cause campaign initially launched as a three-month test campaign in Chicago, and due to its overwhelming success, quickly expanded to Houlihan’s locations across the country.
