Eight-year-old E.G. Authors Publish Their First Book
August 2018, East Greenwich, RI
Jenna Cullen and Aneesa Deonarine have been close friends ever since first grade at Meadowbrook Farms Elementary School. When Jenna had to switch schools in the middle of the year, her new teacher had the foresight to pair her up with Aneesa, and the two became fast friends. Little did they know that they would also one day be co-authors of The First Cats on Mars, a fun and hilarious story about a second-grade class of kittens who journey into outer space on a fantastic field trip.
The First Cats on Mars was released on Amazon.com on July 4, 2018, and is also available through thousands of major online and offline bookstores and retailers, as well as Amazon Createspace Direct. It is also available to download as an ebook on Amazon.com.
Jenna's mom, who happens to have a knack for graphic design and writing, immediately saw the potential of the story and helped out with the book's layout and design. After several months of creative brainstorming and editing, The First Cats on Mars was finally ready for publication. Jenna's mom was so inspired by their project and felt more kids should have the opportunity to see their work published, so she founded KidForce Publishing and is in the process of getting her new venture off the ground.
Jenna and Aneesa have already seen some impressive sales numbers, and are now contemplating a sequel. Though they haven't yet decided exactly what to do with the proceeds, they definitely want to support a charitable cause with some of the money. Click here to purchase your copy!
In the meantime, the two soon-to-be third graders are looking forward to their book release party, and to their next collaboration. Stay tuned for more!
Side Bar: Aneesa and Jenna had the huge honor and pleasure of attending Reading with Robin's summer author event, and meeting the talented and gracious authors seen below: Lauren Weisberger (The Devil Wears Prada, When Life Give You Lululemons); Camille Perri (When Katie Met Cassidy) and Rumaan Alam (That Kind of Mother). They were awed and inspired by these fabulous authors!
