Lidia’s Kansas City celebrates 20th anniversary with special menu hosted by Lidia Bastianich
Lidia’s 20th anniversary celebration features a multi-course menu highlighting the restaurants 20 favorite dishes over the years, live music and an after party on the patio; $60 per person, $30 for additional wine pairing
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Sept. 13, 2018) – Lidia’s Kansas City is celebrating 20 years in the historic Freight House building with “Twenty Favorites from the First 20 Years” on Tuesday, Oct. 30. The special dinner, hosted by Lidia Bastianich, highlights 20 of the restaurants favorite dishes from the past 20 years. The special menu will be served from 4:30 – 9:30 p.m. on Oct. 30 only. The occasion will also include live music, a Prosecco table and an after party on the patio.
Lidia’s Kansas City first opened in the former railroad house in 1998 when Lidia Bastianich decided to expand her borders from New York City to Kansas City. Already a successful restaurateur, cookbook author and television show host, Bastianich began looking for an “urban” site for her next venture. When she stumbled upon the Freight House behind the historic Union Station, the potential caught her eye.
“It was my first venture outside of New York City. Everything just felt right; the people were so welcoming, the location had such potential, and the food scene was just starting to take off. Now the area has transformed so beautifully, and it has been such an honor being a part of it”, says Lidia Bastianich.
The multi-course anniversary menu includes authentic Italian favorites like Lidia’s famous handmade pasta and seafood dishes, as well as an array of desserts. The cost is $60 per person and $30 for additional wine pairings plus tax and gratuity. Reservations are required and seating is limited. Lidia’s Kansas City opened its beautiful Crossroads location in 1998 inside the historic Freight House railroad building at 101 W. 22nd St. Award-winning television host, author, chef and restaurateur, Lidia Bastianich, opened Lidia’s Kansas City as her first restaurant outside of New York City offering regional Italian cuisine.
