Step 1 – Find a Coloring Page

Step 2 – Paper

You have your page, but what paper should you use to print on? Well, as a first timer any paper will do just to get you started – but quality matters and after a while you will find that the type of media you use to color your pages will dictate the type of paper you need to print on. For professional alcohol pens you will want to use a bleedproof paper, for watercolors (or very wet media) you will benefit from watercolor paper. For standard pen or coloring pencils invest in some higher quality copier paper (higher gsm value) and you will get great results.


Step 3 – Color and Share!

Once you have printed your coloring page you are left with the best step of all – coloring! As a beginner I suggest setting to work with either pens or pencils and throw yourself head first into a world of color.

Once you have downloaded your page to your computer it is a case of printing.


For Windows Users:

Open up your pdf file.

Your coloring page will typically open in the Adobe Acrobat application. 

Check the size of your paper is set to Standard Letter or A4 and that your orientation (portrait or landscape) is appropriate to the design you are printing.  

Simply select how many copies you want and hit the print button!


For Apple Mac Users:

Open up your pdf file.

Your coloring page will typically open in the Preview application.

Step 5 – Try Something New!
