Dino tracks, hula-hoops, prizes and more for the kiddos!

(Casper, Wyo) – The Casper College Alumni Association plans fun activities for kids who participate in the free 2K fun run/walk on Sunday, Sept. 20 during the association’s inaugural T-Bird Trek. “We will have runners in costumes making it fun for kids,” said Elliott Ramage, associate director of donor relations for the Casper College Foundation. “Fun” runners will include a dinosaur, the Casper College T-Bird, the Casper Coyote’s mascot, and others. “There will be dinosaur tracks on the course to mark the race and many activities and games for the kids including bubbles, sidewalk chalk, hula-hoops, and more along with prizes and treats for the participating kids,” Ramage noted. The 2K run will begin at the “Essence of Rex” T-Rex statue in front of the Tate Geological Museum at 10 a.m. Participants will need to register on the day of the race beginning at 9 a.m. in the Tate Geological Museum parking lot. In addition to the 2 K, the T-Bird Trek will feature two other runs: a half-marathon and 5K run both beginning and ending at the Jorgensen/Bryce Commons. Registration costs are $65 to participate in the half marathon or $90 for the two-person half marathon, and $35 for the 5K. “Prizes will be given to first, second, and third place finishers in both men’s and women’s for the 5K and half marathon, and first place only for the relay teams in the half marathon. We have some great gifts for all finishers of the 5K and the half marathon, and a special, Thunderbird CC ceramics piece for those that finish the half marathon. Of course, all 5K and half marathon runners will receive a race t-shirt,” said Ramage. Water, Gatorade, and fruit will be provided at five water stations and the winner announcements for the 5K will be made at 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. for the half marathon, according to Ramage. Entertainment on campus and a free picnic will follow the races. “There will be a pizza party with music and fun activities such as human foosball, in addition to what we have planned for the kids,” Ramage said.
