Boogie down at Casper College's 'Jazz Night' featuring acts from the Big Band Era

The Casper College Jazz Ensemble and Casper College Contemporary Singers will present “Jazz Night” on Wednesday, Nov. 18 at 7 p.m. in the Wheeler Concert Hall. “The concert will feature music from the big band era including music from the legendary trombonist and composer, Tommy Dorsey,” said Joshua Mietz, D.M.A. and Casper College Jazz Ensemble director. According to Zach Vreeman, D.M.A., Casper College Contemporary Singers director, compositions to be performed include: “Chicago,” “Song of India,” “Come Fly with Me,” Count Basie’s, “One O’clock Jump” and charts from the Metroplexity and Yellowstone Big Band bassist Kris Berg. Both groups are comprised of students from Casper College, Kelly Walsh High School and Casper community members. “Jazz Night” is free and open to the public.
