Filly track and field star joins the Kansas State Track Team

(Casper, Wyo.) - Natrona County High School senior, Lauren Taubert signed her letter of intent to run track and field for the Kansas State Wildcats today in the new NC library. After considering nine other colleges, Lauren settled on Kansas State. "This was one of the most difficult decisions I have ever had to make. But when I visited the campus I knew this was where I wanted to go. I loved the people, the campus, the coaches and the athletes," said Lauren as she signed with K-State. Her proud parents sat beside her and her father Robert commented, "This is a huge relief for all of us. We are happy for her and we believe Kansas State is the right culture for her." In her high school career, Lauren medaled twenty-five times at the National USA and AAU Junior Olympic Championships and holds the overall state record in the high jump as a Freshman. Lauren anticipates competing in the Heptathlon and pursing a degree in Psychology. "I really love the sport of track and I am glad this process is over. This track season I can now just enjoy it and have fun." Her proud mother, Teresa commented, "Kansas State has a great community of support and we all liked the town of Manhattan. On campus Lauren said that she could see herself there, and that led to this decision." Help wish Lauren good luck and congratulations! #oilcity #nchs #news
