Dispatch: Man crashes into Crossroads Park, arrested for careless driving

(Casper, Wyo.) – Here is a recap of law enforcement activity from around Natrona County from the last 24 hours. All those cited or arrested are presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law. Jesus A Marquez, Casper, DWUS. Robert K Smith, Casper, DWUI. Trish K Stevens, Casper, failure to comply. Brenden A Westbrook, Casper, DWUS, careless driving, driving w/out interlock. At approximately 7:31 pm Casper Police Officers responded to Poplar Street, near Crossroads Park for a report of an accident. According to court documents, the call was for a white passenger car that had hit the median on N Poplar and was now in Crossroads Park. Officers arrived on scene and located the car in question. Officers located the driver, identified as Brenden A. Westbrook near the driver's door of the car. Reports indicate that Westbrook said that he had been driver the of the vehicle, which had significant damage to the left side and undercarriage of the car. Westbrook advised that he had been speeding at about 60 mph southbound on Poplar and had hit the northernmost portion of the median near the Hilton Hotel. Westbrook's car reportedly flipped sideways, sliding down the median and then left the roadway. Westbrook told officers that his license was suspended, and that he was required to have an ignition device and did not have one. He was also unable to provide officers with proof of insurance. He was then taken into custody and arrested for DWUS, careless driving and failure to have an interlock device. *Total Arrests Reported: *10 *Calls:* Casper Police Department responded to 147 calls including one animal noise, one assault, eleven auto burglaries, one disturbance, one drugs, two family fights, three hit and runs, and two public intoxication. *Arrests:* *Natrona County Sheriff's Office* Timothy A Schimmel, Criminal Warrant.
