Albertson's cashier arrested for theft of approximately $3,700

(Casper, Wyo.) - On December 1st at approximately 6:57 pm, Casper Police Department were dispatched to E. 2nd Street for a report of a theft at the Albertson's store. The reporting party stated that one of their employees, identified as Alex D Elliot, had stolen approximately $3,700.00 from the store. Officers arrived on scene at the Albertson's location and made contact with the caller and manager of Albertsons. They reported to officers that Elliot had been employed by them for approximately a year and in the past few weeks they had approximately $3,700.0 stolen from the store. The two provided officers with a hand written confession from Elliot. Officers then spoke with Elliot who reported that he had worked at Albertson's for approximately one year as a cashier and over the past few weeks he had stolen the money. He told officers that he knew it was wrong and was incredibly sorry for taking the money. Offices went with Elliot to his place of residence where officers obtained the stolen money. Elliot was then arrested and charged with felony theft, which is punishable by up to 10 years in prison. #oilcity #news
