Snowpack numbers drop in 2016; Lower North Platte at 82%

According to the Natural Resources Conservation Service out of Casper, the snowpack in the Central Wyoming is below the median for the first week in January. Last year at this time the state median was 103% with a low of 80% and a high of 137%. This year the state median is 81% with a low of 48% and a high of 108% of median. The Upper North Platte showed 101% snowpack this time last year, and only 91% this year. The lower North Platte shows a two percent slide from 84% last year to 82%.
