NCHS DECA students successful in Gillette Invite

Our students from NCHS rocked the recent DECA competition in Gillette. Five members of the 22 member NCHS DECA team traveled to Gillette to compete in role-play events and testing. Two role-plays were offered and the competitors played out the role-plays in three rounds before three different judges or judging pairs; scores sheets were then evaluated and the team fared this way: Role-Play 1 on "Promotion" - Monica Howse (3rd - first round) - Gage Feraud (3rd - first round and 3rd on the second round) - Nicole DeSalvo (2nd first round and 2nd on the second round) - Terrell Oliver (2nd first round) Role-Play 2 on a "Safety Plan" - Nicole DeSalvo (3rd first round) - Terrell Oliver (3rd first round) - Monica Howse (2nd first round; 2nd on the second round; 1st in a third round) - Elizabeth Kerr and Nicole DeSalvo (2nd on the second round as a team) This is a remarkable showing after Gillette swept the KW Invitational in December with Bethany Raver of NC being the only Casper competitor placing. DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the globe. With more than 250,000 members worldwide NCHS DECA’s next competition is the state event hosted by Casper in February. Feature Photo: h.t NCHS DECA/Pitcheningine Communities #oilcity #news #NCHS
