The WSO Presents: ‘Generals and Emperors’ – Beethoven’s finest

Hear one of Russia’s most gifted pianists at the Wyoming Symphony Orchestra’s Chamber Concert, ‘Generals and Emperors, ’- showcasing Beethoven’s masterpieces - at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, January 23rd or 2:30 Sunday, January 24th at Wheeler Concert Hall at Casper College. Beethoven’s fascination with powerful characters is on display in this program. His interpretation of the legend of Roman General Coriolanus provides a dramatic and proud opening to the concert. The picture is completed by a performance from one of the renowned Moscow Conservatory’s most gifted musicians, pianist Elena Ulyanova, performing Beethoven’s famous 5th concerto—the majestic ‘Emperor.’ Ulyanova is described by legendary pianist and conservatory Professor Victor Merzhanov as demonstrating "Great virtuosity, brilliant artistic temperament, unique interpretive expression and a rich sound pallet." Tickets are on sale for the remaining three concerts of the Wyoming Symphony Orchestra’s 66th season bundled in our discounted “Pick 3” package. New this season is the option of performances either Saturday evening at 7:30pm or Sunday matinees at 2:30pm on concert weekends.
