Anybody meet Immigration expert Peggy Orchowski Thursday at CC?

Thursday Casper College hosted a special guest in the Wold Physical Science building for an evening of education and history. Immigration expert Peggy Orchowski spokeon “A Look at U.S. Immigration Policy” Orchowski was the credentialed congressional correspondent and Washington bureau chief for the magazine Hispanic Outlook on Higher Education. As a writer for the magazine she covered both higher education and immigration issues. Her most recent book, “The Law That Changed the Face of America: the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1965” was recently published by Rowman and Littlefield Publishers. In her introduction to the book, Orchowski writes of the 1965 act: “The Immigration and Nationality Act of 1965 completely replaced the nation’s first comprehensive immigration law of 1924 that had set specific quotas against and preferences for immigrants of particular nationalities.
