City of Casper faces numerous claims from those who lost property in the Cole Creek blaze

(Casper, Wyo.) - Following the Coal Creek Fire last October, the City of Casper now faces more than a million dollars in insurance claims, according to the city's Interim Risk Manager Zulima Lopez. Lopez reported that fourteen claims from those who lost property in the blaze have been filed against the city to date (one claim is by an insurance company who had 8 insured clients), totaling $1,185,169.07. Lopez and City Manager VH McDonald directed further questions to the Wyoming Association of Risk Management (WARM).
