Potholes. The work begins.

(Casper, Wyo.) – Pot holes around town after the winter storms? Yes indeed, and the City of Casper road crews are set and ready to repair them all this week. Potholes are created when water enters cracks and then freezes. The expanded ice can break concrete and asphalt. Many of these potholes have been forming gradually over the last few months, but they are only being revealed now as the ice has begun to melt. The city usually focuses on pothole repair in the spring, and it typically takes several months to find and repair them all. The anticipated week of warm weather will not be enough time to fix every pothole in the city, but this brief period will give street crews a chance to deal with some of the worst potholes. Residents may report potholes by calling the streets division at (307)235-8283. #oilcity #news
