Home brewers bill has momentum as it heads up from the Senate to the House

Senate File 62, a bill loosening restrictions for home beer brewers, was unanimously approved by the Senate upon final reading yesterday. The next round of approval will have to come from the House, where it is awaiting introduction. The bill, as drafted, allows for anyone to brew at home in limited quantities, and it creates provisions to allow liquor license holders to host brew competitions. "So it looks like it has good momentum to make it all the way to law," Casper Brew Club member Robert Shellard said. But one of the bill's sponsors, Sen. Dave Kinskey, urged caution because there's still work to be done. "There is many a slip twixt the cup and the lip!" he said in an email.
