Car wash alleged bandit arrested by NCSO, the investigation continues

(Natrona County, Wyo.) - On March 1, 2016 Natrona County Sheriff's Office investigators were assigned to investigate a theft that occurred at the Sunset Car Wash located at 1101 Sunset Blvd. in Bar Nunn. According to court records the money that was stolen was in coins and paper from the vacuum station. The estimated cost of stolen property was approximately $1,500 of missing parts, money and damaged property. During the investigation, video surveillance footage was obtained and showed a dark colored Jeep Cherokee on Feb. 28th pull into the property. The vehicle pulled into the vacuum station and one of the occupants stepped out and crawled onto the light pillar and disconnected the light bulb. The suspect cut the locks on the vacuum coin machine emptied the machines. Reports continue to show that during the investigation it was learned that on Feb. 29th another car wash robbery had taken place at the Wonder Wash in Casper. Casper Police Detectives reviewed the surveillance footage and noted the same Cheep Cherokee in the area and the occupants stealing items. It was also reported that the vehicle was spotted at the Mountain View Car Wash in Mills. On March 1, Casper Police officers responded to the area of Blair Lane for an unrelated incident and noticed the same Jeep Cherokee from the video footage from the car washes. CPD investigators responded to the scene and spoke with the property owner who told them, in court records, that the vehicle was registered to twenty-six year old Danielle Garton. After reviewing the video footage again, CPD investigators identified Danielle Garton as one of the two in the video stealing from the car washes. Investigators meet with Garton and also obtained a search warrant for the vehicle and located a pair of red bolt cutters, a camo face mask, similar to the one used in the robberies, and various items associated with the car wash, (carpet cleaner). NCSO stepped in and spoke with the car wash owners and the approximate amount of items allegedly stolen were $1,000 and a total of $965 worth of damages were reported by the owners. NCSO placed Garton under arrest for three charges of property damage and felony theft. The investigation continues for the other individual involved. #oilcity #news
