Casper's Salvation Army 'A-Team' rallied the troops for Hockey for the Hungry

(Casper, Wyo.) - A rough, tough looking man, with tattoos, a beard and a biker cut met us at the door Thursday night at the Casper Ice Arena. Casper's very own, John Potter and his Salvation Army 'A-Team Disaster Relief' gang were collecting food donations at the fifth annual Hockey Helps the Hungry. Potter welcomed us and commented, "We cook over a million meals just out of Casper for first responders and disaster relief efforts. We make 700-900 meals a day locally for those in need in Casper." The hockey for the hungry event is the only food drive the group does to help feed people locally. "It is about the community, and the unity of the community, " added Potter. "My job is to feed people and my team is incredible." Last year, Potter's team of five collected nearly 1,000 pounds of food for the community at the event, this year the team did the same.
