Sagewood 5th graders experience the freedom of voting in school general election

(Casper, Wyo.)-This Friday Sagewood Elementary fifth grade students held a general election for the school district's new financial literacy program Ameritowne . Firth grade teacher Sarah Hiatt reported that the students voted for a judge and mayor (selections were made in a primary election last month), a 'Towne' flag, and laws to be enforced while the students are running their town at the Boys and Girls Club on April 18th. Hiatt said that the students were able to use the county's polling booths for the election and they received voter registration cards.
