Black Hills Energy begins re-branding in Wyoming

(Wyoming) - Word on the streets of Wyoming, SourceGas is now Black Hills Energy, as Black Hills announced its successful acquisition of SourceGas earlier this year. The natural gas utility serving 429,000 customers in Arkansas, Colorado, Nebraska and Wyoming. Vice President of Black Hills Energy, Shirley Welte spoke to Casper City Council members on Tuesday about the transcation. "There is a lot going on in Wyoming and we are currently in the process of re-branding. Re-branding SourceGas vehicles, uniforms and signs. Welte continued to update council that Black Hills Energy has been around for 130 years and they began in South Dakota. “Black Hills Energy is excited to serve our new customers with safe, reliable energy and to maintain strong local ties that benefit the communities where we live and work,” said Welte. The deal reportedly totaled $1.89 billion. “We look forward to putting our company’s 130-year history of utility expertise and exceptional performance levels to good use for the more than 123,000 natural gas and electric customers we now serve in Wyoming,” said Welte, who is based in Cheyenne and has been with Black Hills Energy since 2012. "Our goal is to be the safest and most reliable source for our customers," Welte concluded.
