Stolen vehicle case escalated with a threatening handgun; Female arrested for possession of a deadly weapon

(Casper, Wyo.) - On March, 30th NCSO investigators were called in to investigate a weapons offense related to a stolen vehicle report made to the Casper Police Department. On March 29th a male reported tot he Casper Police Department that his vehicle had been stolen from a parking area of Amoco Road in Casper. According to court records, the male was informed through several different Facebook posts that his vehicle was stolen from the area while it was parked and it was dragged by a dark colored grey Jeep. The male was advised by Facebook posts to check the area of Wayne's Auto and Truck repair located along Salt Creek Highway. The 30th, the male located his stolen vehicle at the business of North Park Transportation. According to reports, he notified the CPD who then met with him. He was able to retrieve the vehicle with a trailer. According to reports while loading the vehicle, the male was standing in the parking lot when a dark colored Jeep Grand Cherokee pulled into the parking area. The male believed the Jeep was the suspect vehicle that was involved in the theft of his vehicle based on the information he gained via Facebook. The female in the Jeep reportedly exited the vehicle and began to walk towards the others loading the vehicle. The male verbally challenged her and she retreated back to the Jeep. The male then notified the Casper Police Department and followed the Jeep. Court records show that later the driver of the Jeep pulled up next to the males in the other vehicle and pointed a black handgun at him. The two then decided that it was unsafe to continue to follow the Jeep and drove away. The Natrona County Sheriff's Office was then called in to assist the Casper Police Department with the investigation and it was learned that it a female, later identified as Danielle Garton, was the owner of the Jeep and the individual in the vehicle who brandished the handgun. She was later located and arrested for possession of a deadly weapon with unlawful intent. #oilcity #news
