Fire crews extinguished structure fire on N. Fenway

(Casper, Wyo.) -At approximately 6:45pm on April 10th, the Casper Fire-EMS Department was called for a reported structure fire near North Fenway and A St. Based on the fact that the building had multiple apartments, all Casper Fire-EMS units responded. Upon arrival crews found heavy fire in one of the basement apartments. Fire attack and rescue operations were immediately begun. The fire was quickly extinguished and no victims were found inside any of the five aparetments in the building. One patient was transported emergent to the Wyoming Medical Center by WMC ambulance prior to the arrival of any fire units. The patient had burns and singeing to his chest, face, and head. His status is unknown at this time. Of the five apartments in the structure, the unit with fire is a complete loss. Other units appear undamaged, but residents have been displaced for the time being to ensure no danger. The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time, investigators are still working on scene at this time. Further updates will given as needed.
