Possible charge pending for Paradise Valley dog shooting

(Casper, Wyo.) - Officers from the Casper Police Department responded to the area of Sequoia Drive and Cati Place in Paradise Valley at approximately 5:45 pm Sunday, April 10th for numerous reports of a dog who had been shot. Upon arrival officers spoke with witnesses and an adult male who reported to officers that he had shot and killed a mixed breed dog who was being aggressive towards him. Casper Police Officers took witness statements Sunday evening and continued their investigation into the incident today (Monday, April 11th). Casper Police Sgt. Joe Nickerson reported today that officers have submitted a Summons Request to the Natrona County District Attorney's Office for a reckless endangerment charge towards the male who shot the animal. The male allegedly shot off a firearm in a residential area, leading to the possible charge. As noted above, charges are still pending and officers are awaiting a ruling from the DA's office.
