(Casper, Wyo.) - One in 26 people will develop epilepsy at some point in their lives. Casper's Happy Neurons are not OK with that. The Happy Neurons is a team of health professionals from Wyoming Neurologic Associates working to raise awareness and money in support of epilepsy research. This Saturday, April 16, they will be hosting a Casper walk to coincide with the 10th annual National Epilepsy Walk in Washington, D.C. They are looking for Casperites to walk with them and/or donate to the cause. "About 1 in 10 of us will have a seizure at some point in our life. At any point in time, about 1 percent of the population has epilepsy," said David B. Wheeler, M.D., Ph.D., an epileptologist at Wyoming Neurologic Associates. "There are a lot of people with epilepsy, and a lot of need." When: Registration is 9:30 to 10 a.m. Saturday, April 16; walk begins at 10 a.m. Where: Start at Wyoming Neurologic Associates, 1020 E. Second St. The route will take you to Yellowstone Garage and back to WNA for refreshments. Girl Scouts will also sell cookies in the WNA parking lot.
