A real whodunit: WWII murder mystery in the Sandbar

Last night, a sold out crowd of 100 guests gathered together to solve the murder of Sgt. "Snuffy" Smith at the Ramkota Hotel. The murder mystery program was a joint fundraiser by the Fort Caspar Museum Association and the National Historic Trails Center Foundation. The murder mystery takes place in the infamous Sandbar area of Casper in April of 1944, during WWII. FCMA board member Daniel Mattern played the murder victim, Sgt. Smith, whose character served at the Casper Army Air Base. Guests had a wide variety of suspects to choose from--all ten based on Casper's colorful history. Attendees were also encouraged to dress in their best 1940's clothes for a costume contest. Funds raised from the murder mystery will go to both non-profits to ensure the support of the Fort Caspar Museum and National Historic Trails Interpretive Center. #wickman #news #oilcity
