Thunderbird Forensics capture success in the Wheeler Division at National Tournament

(Casper, Wyo.) - The Casper College Debate team had what Director of Forensics Douglas Hall calls an “amazing success” at this year’s two-year Forensics National Tournament recently held in Costa Mesa, California. “As a team, the students finished fourth in their division, coincidentally named the Wheeler Division after former CC Forensics Director Gretchen Wheeler. As for individual events, students took second place in debate, and third place overall,” said Hall. Individually four students brought home some “hardware" which included: - Katie Stock (Douglas, Wyoming) bronze in communication analysis. - Scarlett Miller (Casper, Wyoming) silver in informative speaking and international public debate. - Tyler Pierce (Casper, Wyoming) silver in extemporaneous speaking and gold in international public debate, where he went undefeated in 12 rounds. - Lucas Davis (Gillette, Wyoming) gold in both extemporaneous speaking and international public debate, where he won 11 of 12 rounds. “Jordan (Jordan Johnson, associate forensics coach) and I couldn't be prouder of these students. We went to the tournament with a small, but mighty entry, and the students kept their focus over a grueling five-day tournament to bring home the goods!” exclaimed Hall. #oilcity #news #caspercollege
