Bombs located around Natrona County

(Natrona County, Wyo.) - What!?! Bombs! Yes, bombs, Natrona County Sheriff's Office responded to the area of North Six Mile Road on Sunday for an individual who had found an Improvised Explosive Device on his property. The reporting party stated that he initially picked up the device, then once he realized that it appeared to be an IED, he returned it and the Bomb Response Team was called in to investigate. Investigators responded and began their investigation. ATF was also notified and the device was transported in a secure magazine to continue the investigation. On Monday, May 23th NCSO was again called out for a call of explosives in the area of Custer Avenue in Casper. Three military grade surface trip flares were found at a residence, and it was learned that the devices were from the Vietnam Conflict Era, in relatively good condition. The reporting party stated that the flares were from her deceased grandfather and she wanted them removed. The flares were taken by Natrona County Bomb Squad and moved to a secure location. The two incidents do not appear to be related, and authorities will continue to their investigation into the IED that was found on North Six Mile Road. #oilcity #news
