21 NC applicants petition for Community Action One Cent funding

(Natrona County, Wyo.) - Earlier this week, Monday and Tuesday, the Community Action Partnership of Natrona County came together for one tough job. The Natrona County board is tasked with dispersing One Cent 2017 funds from the City of Casper and Natrona County to various nonprofit applicants. The board received twenty-one applicants from groups around the county which included: - Life Steps Housing First - Food Bank of the Rockies - Child Development Center - Healthcare for the homeless - Hospice and Transitions - Wyoming Senior Citizens - Rescue Mission - Casper Family Connections - Central Wyoming Senior Services - Girl Scouts - Brain Injury Alliance - 12/24 Club - ARC of Natrona County - Self Help Center - Meals on Wheels - CASA - Mercer Family Resource Center - Youth Crisis Center - Wyoming Dementia - Children's Advocacy Last year Natrona County Community Action received and dispensed $383,000 from the City of Casper to non-profit organizations in Natrona County. The group has not yet received, nor do hey do not know how much they will receive from the One Cent 17 funds to dispense to applicants. The board sat and listened to the groups petition for future funds and the members used a scoring rubric as well as group discussion to consider how to dispense the funding. One commented, "These are all wonderful groups and we would love to help them all, but we will see what we can do once we learn how much money is available."
