Amoco Park refurbishment project set to be completed before Summer fun begins

(Casper, Wyo.) - What is going on out our Amoco Park and Bart Rea Learning Circle, one may ask. We spoke with Platte River Trails Trust Executive Director, Angela Emery who reassured us that the park will be re-opening soon with a new parking lot and more room to roam. Emergy commented, "The Amoco Park Trailhead refurbishment project is due to be complete around June 1st, weather permitting. This project was made possible by a grant from the WYDOT TAP program and matching One Cent #14 funds." Amoco Park was the first river trail park to be completed back in 1986. Once a dumping area, Amoco Park is now a beautiful oasis along the banks of the North Platte River, minutes from downtown Casper. Strategically located at the intersection of 1st and Poplar St., the newly improved Amoco Park trailhead is safe, functional and accessible to all trail users. On Friday, June 17th the Platte River Trails will host a grand opening of the Amoco Park trailhead followed by the first of three Food Truck Friday events. Food Truck Fridays will feature local food trucks, live music, games and beverages.
