Breaking: One deceased in tragic accident along HWY 256 Monday

(Evansville, Wyo.) - A fatal crash north of Evansville, Wyoming on Monday June 13th has resulted in the death of 16 year old Bar Nunn, Wyoming resident Trinaty Carlson. The crash occurred at 2:34 p.m. on the 13th near mile post 2.5 on Wyoming Highway 256 approximately three miles north of Evansville. Carlson was driving a 2002 Ford F-150 pickup truck traveling south on WY 256. The Ford failed to properly negotiate a curve in the highway, was over-corrected, crossed the center line, traversed the northbound lane of travel and left the highway to the east. The pickup tripped and rolled multiple times down a steep embankment in the east ditch. Carlson and a passenger were both ejected during the rollover as they were not wearing their seat belts. Carlson was transported to Wyoming Medical Center in Casper by ground ambulance and succumbed to her injuries while en-route to the hospital. The passenger, 17 year old Casper resident Dominic Williams, was also transported by ground ambulance to Wyoming Medical Center and has been hospitalized. Speed and careless driving are being investigated as contributing factors in this crash that marked the 34th highway fatality in Wyoming for 2016. There were 57 fatalities during this same time period in 2015.
