Casper man pleads not guilty to five charges following April car tour through Casper

(Casper, Wyo.) - Thirty-year old Casper man, William Kirkpatrick, entered not guilty pleas to the five charges that stem back to a car chase with Casper Police in April. He is currently charged with reckless endangering, leaving the scene of an accident, attempt to elude, destruction of property, and felony theft. If convicted of all the charges, Kirkpatrick could face thirty plus years in prison. Reports show that Kirkpatrick drove erratically through Casper, driving in the wrong lane of travel, passing other drivers, and taking out fences. Officers later apprehended Kirkpatrick and brought him in for the charges, where he claimed that he had reported the theft to a 'detective' who he could not name, and claimed had had a business card from the 'detective.' Kirkpatrick stated in court records, that the mysterious detective had told him a truck had been stolen that same night from the same area. He also claimed he had reported the theft to the FBI, specifically to an officer who drove a 'bad ass' black and white Dodge Charger. Click to read more about this case . #oilcity #news
