Can you name 5 Hollywood movies filmed in the 307? Fort Caspar Museum names 120

(Casper, Wyo.) - Name five Hollywood movies filmed in Wyoming, Go... 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. We bet your first one was 'Starship Troopers'', filmed in 1998 at our Hell's Half Acre. That is always our first go to too. But do you know how many Hollywood films have been filmed in the 307? According to Fort Caspar Museum in the Oil City, 120 plus. All Summer long the museum will be featuring their Hollywood in Wyoming exhibit, a display of 29 movie posters of the films which captured a part of Wyoming. The exhibit was created in 1998 and since, more films such as Pixar's 'The Good Dinosaur' and Quentin Tarantino's 'Django Unchained' have been inspired by our great state. Fort Caspar Museum staff member, Michelle Bahe commented, "I think this exhibit really shows a lot of great movies, which contrary to popular believe, they are not all Westerns. 'Third Encounter of a Third Kind' features our Devil's Tower as a spaceship pickup place and the 'Powwow Highway' features downtown Casper at one point." Bahe continued to share that the movie, 'Prison' was filmed in 1988 at the old Wyoming State Pen. in Rawlins and the lead actor is Viggo Mortensen, from the 'The Lord of the Rings'. Trey Corkern, Fort Caspar Museum Curator commented, "The great thing about Wyoming, is our amazing features that are so emblematic in films. It is nice when you come to visit these places you see in the movies and that image actually reflects the reality." *Fun Fact*: We learned about Wyoming movies, before the epic car chases, fast cars and fast women, Mr. Paul Walker stared in the film Meet the Deedles, filmed in 1999 in Yellowstone (Ladies, you better look for it on Netflix tonight)! The exhibit will run all Summer long to share with your friends and family visiting the Oil City. Take the opportunity to explore the Fort as well as many of the other arts and museums around Casper! #oilcity #news #county17 #county10 #buckrail #reboot #dally #springcity #shortgo
