Converse County Sheriff's Office shares 3.5 ounces of meth and two handguns found in possession of man in Douglas shooting

(Converse County, Wyo.) - In the interest of preventing misinformation, the Converse County Sheriff's Office is releasing the following known facts about the Douglas shooting last week. On June 30th, 2016, U.S Marshals came to Douglas to serve a federal warrant for Jasen Scott Ramirez, for Possession with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine, a Felon in Possession of a Firearm, and Possession of a Firearm in Furtherance of a Drug Trafficking Offense. The Converse County Sheriff's Office responded at approximately 2:43 pm to a call of an officer-involved shooting at the Saint James Catholic Church. Local Law Enforcement rendered aid to Jasen Scott Ramirez outside of the vehicle where he was shot, but Mr. Ramirez passed away. A Search Warrant was obtained on the vehicle where approximately 3.5 ounces of methamphetamine and two handguns were recovered. In addition, about 0.5 ounces of methamphetamine, was found on Mr. Ramirez's person. These are the basic known facts at the time. The Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) has been asked to fully investigate the shooting.
