Casper man attacks caregivers at WMC following 'drunken fight' at local park

(Casper, Wyo.) - On Sunday, July 17th at approximately 8:15 pm the Casper Police Department responded to Wyoming Medical Center for a disturbance in the ER. Court records show officers arriving on scene and entering the ER room, observing a male, later identified as Cory Johnson, struggling with nurses and medical staff. Johnson was reported to be naked and bleeding from ripping his IV out of his arm. He was eventually forced back into his bed and calmed down by police and medical staff. WMC nurses reported that Johnson had choked one of the nurses, kicked another nurse, grabbed a nurse's breast and tired to break the fingers of another WMC employee. Officers collected evidence of the assault at WMC and it was learned that Johnson had been involved in a "drunken fight' at Washington Park earlier in the day. He had blown a 0.26 at the time of the incident and brought to WMC. Johnson was charged with assault and battery, disturbing the peace and public intoxication. #oilcity #news
