Keep Casper Beautiful to add trees to Washington and Conwell Parks thanks to UPS Grant

(Casper, Wyo.) - Keep Casper Beautiful announced today that they have been awarded a $10,000 tree planting grant from the UPS Foundation. The grant will be used to replace trees that have been removed from Washington and Conwell Parks. The trees will be planted this fall by volunteers. Keep Casper Beautiful was one of 30 Keep America Beautiful (KAB) affiliates to receive the competitive award. The UPS Foundation provided $160,000 to affiliates nationwide in 2016. In addition to the grant funding, the program also links Keep America Beautiful affiliates with local UPS employees who will provide volunteer support to plant the trees. Keep Casper Beautiful has previously received $20,000 from the UPS Foundation from grants awarded in 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2015. Previous grants paid for trees along I-25 at the Field of Dreams baseball complex, trees along roads within the North Casper Soccer Complex, native and fruit trees in Goodstein Park, and replacement trees for Eastdale Park. Keep Casper Beautiful is a City of Casper program. The program seeks to inspire and educate people to take action every day that improves and beautifies their community environment. The affiliate is managed by the Parks Division and utilizes volunteers to clean up litter, plant trees and flowers, and abate graffiti. The program is also involved in public arts projects including the recent Wyocity Public Art Project in downtown.
