Council holds Special session to address the sale of city property to the state; Followed by regular session

(Casper, Wyo.) - The members of the Casper City Council will meet at the council chambers this evening at 5:00 pm for special session to consider the sale of City-owned property to the State of Wyoming The State of Wyoming recently met to evaluate and consider the final design for the state building to be constructed in Casper. They are considering placing the building on the 5/6 acre parcel of land West of ART 321. This is the portion of land council is considering selling this evening. Following the work session council will converge at 6:00 pm for the regular session in the council chambers. Tonight, council will consider approving a contract with 71 Construction for the long awaited Washington Park Bleachers Project. The amount of the project is $291,920. Casper City Manager, VH McDonald reported that the funding is coming from one cent fifteen funds and has been a long time planned project and has been on the City's Capital Improvement Program for the last two years. 71 Construction was granted the project of taking down the old bleachers and installing new pre-cast concrete block terraces. "The old bleachers have been found to be structurally un-sound and they are being replaced for safety and comfort for residents," said City Manager McDonald. Council members will also take a look at an agreement with Caspar Building Systems, Inc., for the Casper Events Center Storage Project.
