Pierpont’s takes guests on a tasting tour of rosé wines from regions of France and Italy on Tuesday, Aug. 23

Executive Chef Matt Barnes’ 5-course menu features custom dishes like Blue Crab Orecchiette, Honeysuckle Game Hen and Seared Hanger Steak with a blueberry dry rub

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Aug. 14, 2018) – Pierpont’s Executive Chef Matt Barnes will offer guests a five-course dinner, with amuse-bouche, that will pair with six different rosé wines from different Italian and French regions on Thursday, Aug. 23. Tickets to the rosé wine dinner are $125 and include tax and gratuity. Seating is limited and reservations are required. Amuse-Bouche:

  • Membrillo – jerky, wild basil
  • Wine Pairing: Bouvet-Ladubay Excellence Brut Rosé, Loire Valley, France

 

First Course:

  • Seared Ahi Tuna – Szechuan pepper, short cut-long beans, heirloom tomato confit, crème rouge
  • Wine Pairing: Louis Jadot Rosé Coteaux Bourguignons, France

 

Second Course:

  • Blue Crab – Orecchiette, broccolini, chili-cherry dust, pine nut brown butter
  • Wine Pairing: Rosa dei Masi, Rosato delle Venezie, Italy

 

Third Course:

  • Honeysuckle Game Hen – roasted sunchokes, pink lady apple, pomelo
  • Wine Pairing: La Nerthe Les Cassagnes Rosé, Côtes-du-Rhône, France

 

Fourth Course:

  • Seared Hanger Steak – blueberry dry rub, green pepper coulis, blue cheese-potato crumble
  • Wine Pairing: Château d’Aquéria Rosé, Tavel, France

 

Fifth Course:

  • Trio of Flavors and Textures – peach-chartreuse jaconde, strawberry-hibiscus pavlova, passion fruit mousse
  • Wine Pairing: Caposaldo Sparkling Rosé, North East Italy
