Miami's Little Haiti Cultural Complex Presents Wing & Sauce Battle

Miami, Florida

How much Wing game have you got? in association with Miami's celebrity Chef DP and Little Haiti Cultural Complex, aims to find out Saturday, April 25th during the 2nd Wings & Sauce Battle at the Caribbean Market Place in Miami, Florida. Wing eaters from adults to kids will battle it out for 5 rounds to earn bragging rights as SabrosoSauce King or Queen of Wings and a cash prize.

The Wings & Sauce Battle 13 City Tour kicked off earlier this year in January at Scratch DJ Academy in Wynwood. This time Miami's Celebrity Roadside Chef DP and his team will travel to the heart of Little Haiti to host the event. The Edison Plaza and Dave Corner Plaza Wingstop franchises owned by Rod Stokes are donating their delicious chicken wings for the event.

"This will be the battle of all wing battles said Chef DP. We're taking this to 13 cities, 11 in Florida and two in New York. When it's all said and done we will know who in Miami can eat the most chicken wings within 3 minutes. It should be easy, since they will be smothered in our delicious SabrosoSauce Dip," he chuckled.

The winner in both categories adult and kids will take home a cash prize; $100 for the adult winner; $50 for the winner of the kids battle.
Recently Chef DP was named the featured Culinary Expert at the Little Haiti Cultural Complex. "We are thrilled Chef DP is bringing his 2nd Wing & Sauce Battle to the Caribbean Market Place along side our vendor's Made it Myself Fair. It'll be the perfect Family Day here at our Little Haiti Cultural Complex," said Manager Sandy Dorsainvil. Our facility encourages these kinds of family friendly events that bring together youth and community." she added.

About Chef DP

Born in Miami of Bahamian-descent, Darryl Johnson aka Chef DP, learned to cook from his Bahamian grandparents and mother as well as mentors at the Miami Culinary Institute downtown.  His love for food and entrepreneurial spirit were discovered early as a child when he sold homemade butter cookies at events throughout Miami-Dade and Broward counties. He also has many loyal customers who patronize his mobile kitchen across from North Shore Hospital.

Johnson’s customers have come from far and wide to enjoy his chunks of sweet, tender conch imported from the Bahamas and Turks & Caicos or for his fritters, made from a batter that has bits of conch, green pepper, onion and secret seasonings, but Johnson, is about more than delicious conch fritters and salad. The personable Chef, known for his comedic personality, shades, and bright smile, is an entrepreneur and philanthropist. Through Chef DP Charities he adopts a floor each year at Holtz Children’s Hospital and is involved in many charitable efforts throughout Miami and beyond.

In 2011, Chef DP established SabrosoSauce,™  a delicious blend of high-quality sauces and seasonings, hand created with fresh and natural ingredients. He has additional products on the way.
