Electric Supply Company,one
of the 10 largest electrical distribution companies in the nation, will mark 95
years in the electrical distribution industry on April 15. Founded in Dubuque,
Iowa in 1919 by
Titus B. Schmid, the company has grown to 141 stocking locations in 27 states,
and employs more than 1,700 people.

While continuing to support the construction industry, Crescent Electric has expanded its range of products and services to include industrial, datacomm and energy customers. Included in those services are a dedicated technical support center and a staff of energy specialists capable of conducting deep energy audits and payback analysis on energy retrofit and upgrade projects.
In addition to offering counter service at its 141 branch locations, Crescent Electric has an updated business-to-business ecommerce site that allows customers to access their order history, create quotes and place orders online for local pickup or delivery. The site provides access to more than 200,000 products and allows customers to draw from the company’s system-wide inventory of more than $120 million.
Still privately held, Crescent Electric serves contractors, utilities, commercial, institutional, educational and industrial customers with a broad line of electrical, electronic, automation, security, lighting, datacomm, and renewable energy products.
