Round Rock, Texas (September 15, 2015) – Global fitness brand SICFIT (www.SICFIT.com) is expanding its national presence and opening the second SICFIT Gym in Texas on October 1. Mike Allred and Kaleigh Chatfield will be SICFIT Round Rock’s owners and operators. This will be the sixth SICFIT location to open nationally during the past 18 months for the rapidly expanding fitness brand.
“I am extremely proud to be part of this welcoming, patriotic community and humbled for the opportunity to give back through our business,” said Mike Allred, SICFIT Round Rock Co-owner. “ We are a family-friendly gym with opportunities and classes for everyone to become the best version of themselves – from age 4 to 94, from business professional, to stay-at-home parent – we are all working together to improve our health, wellness and ability to enjoy life.”
A veteran and long-time member of the fitness industry, Mike Allred was one of the founders of the well-known non-profit gym, Kandahar CrossFit which serves our US Armed Forces as well as the Multi-National Forces deployed in Afghanistan. Allred is also recognized for being the creator of The 2011 Afghan Games, a CrossFit Games style event held in order to raise money to support troops on remote operating bases with reliable gym equipment. Allred and others volunteered their time to coach and manage the gym that offered several classes a day, seven days a week.
“Changing lives in Kandahar by providing an outlet and helping others grow physically and emotionally stronger through our gym’s team atmosphere is what inspired us to launch SICFIT Round Rock,” explained Allred. “We want to recreate that welcoming feeling – it doesn’t matter where you are from or what shape you’re in, if your goal is to improve physically or mentally, we will help you by applying functional fitness movements and nutrition to improve your strength, conditioning and personal wellness.”
