The Lander Art Center is proud to open the second annual Around Town Native American Art Show, Friday, November 7th. As an "Around Town" exhibition, artwork will be featured in the Lander Art Center gallery as well as show simultaneously at Old Town Coffee and the Lander Library. This exhibition coincides with November's National Native American Heritage Month set aside to honor and recognize the significant contributions of the first Americans. The Wind River Reservation is an important part our county and its people our community.
The Lander Art Center has teamed up for a second year with Native artists from across Fremont County and beyond to celebrate their heritage through a unique collection of artists’ work. This year's work includes aspiring and professional artists and new this year work by Fort Washakie Schools and Wyoming Indian High School students. We are excited to have a dynamic mix of art mediums and artistic voices with artist sharing their experience through a personal lens. Art mediums include printmaking, graphic design, photo transfer and mixed media, painting, ceramics, and bead work.
Exhibition will host opening receptions Friday, November 7th from 6-8pm at the Lander Art Center and Old Town Coffee.
Opening will include a flute and drum performance by Andrew Vasquez and his company. Appetizers provided at both locations. Drinks will be for purchase at Old Town Coffee.
The community is encouraged to attend and meet the artists!
