National Company Awards Minnesota Business ‘Franchise of the Year’. Just Between Friends Events in the Twin Cities Receive Prestigious Award. Two Local Mompreneurs Help Thousands of Families Save & Earn Money at Four Annual Consignment Events.

Minneapolis, Minn. - North America’s leading children and maternity consignment sales franchise system, Just Between Friends, has chosen two local sisters as ‘Franchise of the Year’ for their Kris Bishop and Katy Saunders are both moms who organize and run four successful Just Between Friends (JBF) events throughout Minneapolis-St. Paul: Maple Grove, Eagan, Coon Rapids and Eden Prairie

For more than eight years, Bishop and Saunders have helped thousands of families throughout the Twin Cities save money and earn money on items for their children and families. At Just Between Friends events (JBF), local families sign up as consignors and sell the new and gently used children’s items their families have outgrown.  They can earn between 60 and 70% of the sale price and literally turn “clutter into cash”.  Families also shop at the JBF events and typically save 50 to 90% on items for their children: clothing, toys, baby equipment, furniture and much more.  This spring they will celebrate their 50th sale in March in Maple Grove, MN.

The independent judges chose the Twin Cities’ franchises over more than 135 others. The judges said a few of the key deciding factors included placing a priority on the people they serve, responding to their customers’ needs, and enlisting the power of technology and social media to promote their events.

“I am thrilled that Kris and Katy won because they truly are deserving.  Helping families is at the core of what we do and they have embraced that by organizing at least eight different JBF events a year throughout Minneapolis-St. Paul and focusing on serving their community. They help families make ends meet as well as give back to several worthwhile causes in the area,” explained Just Between Friends CEO and Co-founder Shannon Wilburn.

Bishop and Saunders support four non-profit organizations in the region, through cash and in-kind donations.
