Wet 'n' Wild Phoenix Opens March 12 with Food Drive, Discounts and Spirit Week

Extended Hours, More Shade, Seating and Fun for Arizona’s Largest Waterpark

PHOENIX (March 6, 2016) – Wet ‘n’ Wild Phoenix (www.wetnwildphoenix.com) opens for its 2016 season on March 12 – perfect timing for locals experiencing unseasonably high temperatures. To celebrate, guests can get discounted admission of $25 for bringing in two canned food items (up to $18 value per ticket) the first two Opening Weekends. The canned food drive will occur March 12, 13, 18, 19 and 20 to benefit St. Mary’s Food Bank. Additional fun, discounts and entertainment will be available during Spring Break Spirit Week, which runs March 21 through 25.

“What better way to kick off our eighth season than by helping local families in need,” said Lee Graham, General Manager of Wet ‘n’ Wild Phoenix. “With the hottest spring temperatures on record, we anticipate collecting a significant amount of canned food from individuals looking to cool down, celebrate spring and make a difference in our community.”

St. Mary’s Canned Food Drive

Wet ‘n’ Wild Phoenix wants to help end hunger in our community and is partnering with St. Mary’s Food Bank to help support local families in need. Guests that bring two non-perishable food items will get $25 admission on March 12,13, 18, 19 and 20*

Spring Break Spirit Week

Beginning Friday, March 18 the park will be open 10 consecutive days for Spring Break. To celebrate, the waterpark is hosting a Spirit Week March 21 through 25 and will award participants $10 off main gate any day general admission.

·      Monday, March 21 – Pirate and Princess Day (accessorize like a princess or pirate)

·      Tuesday, March 22 – Crazy Hair/Hat Day

·      Wednesday, March 23 – Sports Team Day (D-Backs, Sun Devils and other sports team hat/shirt)

·      Thursday, March 24 – Super Hero/Comic Day (Superhero (family friendly)

·      Friday, March 25 – Star Wars Day (family friendly)

2016 Improvements

In preparation for this season and an anticipated warm spring, park management is adding more share, more seating and longer weekend hours for guests to enjoy the park.

Longer Hours: Beginning in May, the park will roll back opening time, opening at 10am. Check operating hours for more specifics. Then in August, the park has created Friday Fun Nights, the perfect opportunity for families to squeeze in more fun before summer ends.

Shade and Seating: The park, (which already has more shade than any other park in Arizona) is enhancing its shade structures as well as adding hundreds of additional chaise lounge chairs this season.
